Come and celebrate Christmas at St Pancras


This Christmas, St Pancras International will launch the world’s largest advent calendar
at over 1100 square metres, a unique encounter with Father Christmas
and the only place to post your letter to Lapland, at a Victorian inspired extravaganza.

Every day a door on the advent calendar will be opened by a celebrity or intriguing character,
on selected days the guests will be accompanied by a child from
Great Ormond Street Hospital – St Pancras’ chosen charity of the year.

The station concourse will be completely transformed with traditional and
dramatic decorations which will be complemented by a Christmas Fayre selling authentic gifts,
classic film screenings, and a whole host of other events for all the family.

Father Christmas Breakfasts

Father Christmas Breakfasts will take place in the splendor of the oak paneled Booking Hall. This is a really fun event, children will have the chance to sit with Father Christmas, be entertained by a professional entertainer, enjoy breakfast, and receive a gift. Adults are invited too, There will be delicious pastries, juices and hot drinks (for parents).

The breakfasts will take place at 9am-10am on Sunday 2nd, Saturday 8th, Saturday 15th and Saturday 22nd.

Tickets must be prebooked online - £12 for children, £12 per adult

Father Christmas’ Postbox

Come along to St Pancras International and post your letter to Father Christmas. We have installed a special writing area with desks and a beautiful Victorian post box to carry Christmas Lists straight to Lapland.

Christmas Fair

A beautiful, traditional European Christmas Gift Fair will be for exploring in the heart of St Pancras International Station throughout December, selling all sorts of marvelous winter delights including handmade sold silver from the Portobello Market, saucisson & terrines, chic boutiques and handmade soaps from the West Country.

Victorian New Year’s Eve Masked Ball

In conjunction with the Last Tuesday Society, St Pancras is proud to host a lavish Victorian Masked Ball on the 31st December 2007.

The Gymnasium at St Pancras International will hold long tables draped in crushed velvet and piled high with decadent Victorian delights.

The evening’s entertainment will include Legun’s legendary curiosity shop, a Kissing Booth, Silhouettes, an all knowing head and other side shows. A large authentic Victoria Gypsy Band will provide musical accompaniment for the night.

Daily Door Opening

Every day at 10am a door the World’s Largest Advent Calendar will be opened by a celebrity or intriguing character who, on selected days, will be joined by some of the children from Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Pancras’ chosen charity of the year.

Talks and Readings

An intriguing schedule of talks have been arranged at the station, to take place in the surrounds of the St Pancras Booking Hall.

These will take place on week day lunchtimes and Sundays.

  • Every Sunday Alistair Lansley, Lead Architect for St Pancras International, will speak on the delights of St Pancras
  • Tuesday 4th December Lunchtime Lecture – Jane King, from the Foundling Museum, will be talking about Life as a Foundling
  • Thursday 6th December Lunchtime Lecture – The Royal Pharmaceutical Society will be talking about Making Victorian Medicines. An interactive demonstration showing you how Victorian pharmacists used to make their medicines, then you have the chance to use the equipment
  • Sunday 9th December - Kathryn Hughes, author of The Short Life and Long Times of Mrs Beeton, will be talking about the Life and Times of Mrs Beeton
  • Thursday 20th Lunchtime Lecture – The Petrie Museum will be talking about Victorian Archaeological Discoveries Talk; A fascinating talk by the Petrie Museum on many incredible finds by the some of the most adventurous Victorians
  • Sunday 23rd December - Charles Dickens will be reading excerpts from his bestselling book: A Christmas Carol.

Screenings

Family Matinees

Join us every Saturday for Family Matinees accompanied by delicious pop corn. We have a fantastic line up of family Christmas Films starting on 1st December with Santa Claus the Movie followed by Muppet’s Christmas Carol (8th), Polar Express (15th) and The Snowman (22nd)

Classic Screenings

Join us every Wednesday evening to watch some Classic Christmas Films, accompanied by delicious popcorn.

We have a great programme of films;

Scrooged (5th), Miracle on 34th Street (12th), A White Christmas (19th)

St Pancras Children’s Drawing Competition

How would you like to design your own version for us at St Pancras?

If you are aged between 5-11 years old you could design your own advent calendar and be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes. 

Two lucky winners will be invited to come and see the World’s Biggest Advent Calendar at St Pancras Station open a giant window in our Advent Calendar. You will also receive a £100 Hamleys Voucher, a fantastic £75 art pack and we will give your school £500 worth of art materials. And if you are one of the four runners up, you will receive a £50 Hamleys voucher and a fantastic £50 art pack.

Carol Singing

Over the festive period St Pancras International will come alive with the music of choirs including The English Baroque Choir, The London Transport Choir and local choirs from around London.

Join us each Tuesday evening for an enjoyable evening with festive songs, mulled wine, roast chestnuts and pfeffernusse.

St Pancras London Walk

In conjunction with St Pancras, London Walks are leading guided walks on Sunday 2, 9, 16 at 2pm around St Pancras Station and the surrounding are. If you fancy joining an expert historian, head to the meeting point at Kings Cross Tube, Euston Road North Exit by 2pm.

Arrival of 3 Kings & Gallette De Rois

Join us on 6th January for the Grande Finale of the Christmas celebrations, lead by the three kings. Try a slice of Galette de Rois, the French traditional cake, and see if you are one of the lucky ones who finds the feve, a small figurine hidden inside the cake, and crowned king/queen.

Workshops

Join us on Saturdays for a fun hands-on workshop.

Singles Dance Card Dating Night

On Thursday 6th December at 7pm in the Booking Hall, St Pancras will launch a singles night with a difference. Meet your perfect partner in the opulent setting of the Booking Hall, enjoy drinks, entertainment and a little push in the right direction. We promise an evening of delicious drinks, music and entertainment.
